Apparel:
It has been said that the better you look in the gym, the more you can lift. Whatever you wear to the gym is totally up to your own comfort level. I am all for women supporting women to wear whatever they feel their best in! That said, these are some of my favorite workout sets:
This has easily been my favorite go-to set this year. It is squat proof, thick, and shows off the curves just the way I like! The bra is not the tightest due to the limited strap support, but for a small chested woman, it does the job just fine!
In fact, I like it so much, I also have the shorts set. It is equal in quality of material, squat proof, and I love the shape it gives. The shorts do roll up a little which bothers me some, but still is worth it!
90 Degree by Reflex is a legging brand I swear by! I have always been die hard loyal to this brand. I love to hunt for them at Marshall’s and/or TJMaxx, but amazon also has them! I have rarely had a pair that wasn’t squat proof, and they last a long time.
These are my favorite biker shorts without a doubt! They are squat proof, durable, and are not too tight around my quads, which is a must for me!
Those sets plus some from Gymshark are all in my weekly rotation for gym wear. I love a cute set for the gym. A matching outfit truly can make any gym day great. One last set to round it off, this is a set on my wish list this year.
Hats:
As you can see from the pictures above, I love a good lifting hat! It is rare for me to lift without a hat on, because it helps my headphones not fall off my head. Here are some of my faves!
Speaking of headphones:
Sony brand has been my favorite for years! This is actually my third pair from them. They hold a charge for 50 hours! I swear I can’t even remember the last time I charged them. They are comfortable and get the job done!
Hard shell headphones case:
An absolute necessity / staple investment as I have broken two pairs too many, so this has been a major key for keeping my third pair safe in my gym bag between uses!
Gym Gear:
Barbell clips/collars:
Now these might not be your top priority, however they can be such a convenience if you have a preference in the kind you like vs what your gym has. If you go to a busy gym where they can be hard to find, it is so nice to just have your own and not even worry about it!
Barbell pad:
Another major convenience / must have for the gym girlie who is trying to grow her glutes! This barbell pad has many uses outside of the standard hip thrust as well. I like to use it as a pad for my ankle when doing Bulgarian split squats! I love this one because it Velcro’s on and stays in place to protect my hips!
Weight lifting belt:
Another quality staple for protecting your back and helping you brace your core as you challenge yourself with heavier lifts.
Weight lifting straps:
These specific around the wrist grips are my personal favorite, but there are many kinds on the market! Try a few and find what is best for you.
Ankle straps for cables:
This is a fan favorite for the girls building their glutes! Another one that can be tough to find depending on the gym you go to, so definitely grab your own and keep them in your bag at all times!
Knee sleeves:
Not a necessity, but a game changer for sure! If you are lifting heavy and want some added support for your knees, these are a must!
Resistance bands:
Always a staple to have on hand / can be used for so many different reasons!
Bonus Items:
If you are looking for a splurge item, consider a walking pad! This is by far my favorite investment from the past few years. I am able to get steps in while working from home, watching my favorite shows, or when it is raining out – there are no excuses! Super convenient and I love being able to move at a speed that is comfortable for me.
The HOLY GRAIL of glute building:
Enough said!!!
